The Branch meet on the second Monday of every month at 7.30 pm (excluding August), the meetings are held in the Helyg Day Centre at Wrexham Maelor General Hospital, everybody welcome. 

The local branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association held its AGM on Mon 11th May 2009.We were privaliged to have a visit from the Mayor & Mayoress of Wrexham, Councillor David Griffiths and his wife.

Wrexham Neurological Alliance meets in the Guildhall every month. 
This has gone from strength to strength in the last year. About 20 people on average attend the monthly meetings in the Guildhall. These are mainly representatives of the Neurological Charities in Wrexham but also include individuals with neurological conditions and their carers. A network of contacts with other Alliances has been established across North Wales with the help of the Wales Neurological Alliance, Wrexham County Borough Council and AVOW. We meet at approximately 2 monthly intervals to exchange ideas and information. It's early days yet but hopefully this will become a useful tool to influence various organisations.

 
 

Friday 20th November and Saturday 21st November 2009, Bag Packing at M & S store
We will be carrrying out bag packing at M & S store in Wrexham to raise funds for the branch, this will be over 2 days. Volunteers required!

Monday 13th July at 1 pm, a change to our usual format for our July monthly meeting.
We will be going out for lunch to the Pant-yr-Ochain in Gresford, all are welcome. People living with MND(PLWMND) and carers will be paid for by the Clwyd branch.

Tuesday, 14th April - Bradley Allen's Sponsored Walk up Snowdon

Bradley came up with the idea of walking the 10 miles round trip, up and down Snowdon to raise money for the Clwyd branch of the MNDA. His Mum and my wife Brenda passed away in July 2007, so he wanted to do something to raise funds for the branch. We decided to walk up to the summit from Llanberis following the railway. We were joined on the walk by 4 other people, Mandy Tydd, Dave Moulton, John Tydd and Daniel Tydd. Mandys father had passed away with MND a few years ago. I had met her in September 2008 on a MNDA sponsored bike ride to Reims in France. We set out from the car park next to the Snowdon mountain railway at 9.30am on a cold and damp morning.

We continued up the mountain at a steady pace, taking in what we could see of the views!. Visibility wasn't good due to mist and low cloud. The weather held up well for us during the walk, in fact it improved visibly on our way down. 
In all we took just over 2 1/2hrs to reach the summit. After a brief stop for our lunch and photos we made our way back down to Llanberis.

We arrived back in Llanberis at 2.30pm very tired!.

Bradley has raised to date £329. We would like to thank Mandy, her family and friends for raising £100 towards that total.
   
Hooton Park Lodge of Cheshire Freemasons presented a cheque for £300 to Phyllis.

Bill & Sharon King and family completed the 15 mile Wirral Coastal Walk on 15/5/09 and raised over £1,000. £900 will go towards MND Clinical trials whilst we will receive £105.
